Now, this is amazing, a Cadbury’s Mod advert from 1966. Yes, Mod was that big at the time.
Well, the title pretty much says it all. Micky Tenner on everyone’s favourite 1960s music show.
Huge thanks to Danielle for pointing us in the direction of this footage of the recent Sydney Harbour Mod Boat Cruise.
It didn’t last long on the BBC’s iPlayer catch-up service and if you lived outside the UK, you probably couldn’t see it at all. But thanks to YouTube, everyone can watch Timeshift – Mods, Rockers and Bank Holiday Mayhem either for the first time or again and again.
It’s essentially a promotional film for the label and likely to appeal more to those with a love of the northern soul scene. But the Brutus Trimfit – Back Street All-nighter is still well worth checking out.
Just spotted this in the inbox, The Soul Rider documentary, which focuses on a 1960s mod in the present era, but looking back at the past. It’s a short watch, but worth the effort.
Not the longest of videos, but some nice footage and sounds in the five-minute Boom Town – Detroit in the 60s.
I was surprised by the reaction to this on the social networks. Personally, I cringed a little when I saw this mod-themed insurance advert, but others seem to like it.
